We stopped at the Sukuma Berry Stand today. Lots more there besides the yummy berries. Sunflowers always make me smile

This morning I awoke to the sound of giant rain drops falling. I looked outside and saw blue skies and sunshine. Right overhead there was a little rain cloud doing it's best to cool off the neighborhood. The downpour was short-lived, but it did cool things off a bit. I went outside in the rain looking for a photo. Missed my elderly neighbor standing on his porch with his hands in the air, but this rose bush was doing its own celebrating.

Had promised another HOT photo today. How about HOT pink. On this very HOT day, my Stargazers began to bloom. Stargazers always remind me of my sweet Mama. One day she documented the opening of a Stargazer while sitting at her kitchen table. She patiently watched and listened as the bud opened over the course of hours. What a great lesson in paying attention to the wonders all around you. Today is my parents 48th wedding anniversary. Together they have taught me many wonderful lessons like this one.

Fun day in Seattle today. We went down for the Mariners game. The Mariners weren't very successful, in fact they were pretty awful. But it is always fun to go to Safeco even when the Mariners don't win. Today was the first day of SeaFair and Seattle was in a festive mood. Lots going on including a Sounders game, concerts, a Torchlight Run and the Torchlight Parade. Always so many neat things to see and do in Seattle.

Went for an evening drive looking for some inspiration. The sun setting on these little red houses just seemed to pop. This migrant housing looks better from a distance than most I have seen. But I don't know what the conditions are like close up. Workers will live here until the crops are harvested and it gets too cold to live in non-heated housing. Then it will be time to head to another crop or in some cases, back to their home country. I sometimes wish that I could be a traveling teacher who follows the crops and the kids making sure that the kids are able to get a good education even though they live a migratory life.

One thing that I love about photography is that it encourages you to look closer to see details. I am always in awe and amazed at the beautiful intricacies in nature. I feel very loved to know that such care is put into every creation.

We decided to cross the border at the Aldergrove Crossing which is in farm land. Still had quite the wait. This was the view from our car. The fireweed is pretty all over our region right now.

It was a spectacular sunny day in Vancouver today. We spent the whole day in out door endeavors. We started off here at Queen Elizabeth Park and then headed to Granville Island finishing our day in the historic fishing village of Steveston.

Saw lots of amazing stuff today including majestic mountains, mighty waterways, quaint fishing villages, colorful sea life and a breath taking sunset. I chose to go with one of the more unusual and endearing things I saw today. Not sure about Bella’s ears and I am not a fan of motorcycles, but I thought that this photo speaks loads to the relationships we have with our pets and the important part they play in our lives.

Beautiful day exploring the Sunshine Coast. Lots of neat little villages, coves, huge trees and such. The ferry from Earl's Cove to Saltery Bay reminded me a lot of the fiords in Norway. breathtakingly beautiful. As we were headed back to our camping area after dinner tonight, we saw lots of majestic eagles purched in trees along the water. My camera isn't good at getting close ups of eagles in trees. Believe me, I have tried. So, I decided to focus on the eagle in the totem pole and just point out that there is a real Bald Eagle in the tree in the background.

Camping on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. This was the last photo I took before my brand new camera when caput. Luckily, I brought my old one as a back up. Since you have to cross the boarder and take a ferry, this feels really remote, but we are actually only about 100 miles from home.

Very busy day today as we worked in the rain cleaning gardens, grinding stumps, (Erik not me) and other organization and clean up projects. Ran out and took one photo of part of our garden. I hardly ever just take one photo, but the bottom dropped out as I was snapping. As you can see, the flowers are happy with the rain.

Took some photos of different things blooming in my garden today. This one wasn't quite blooming and it is really beautiful when it was blooming, but I decided I liked the budding stage too.

Went to LaConner today to meet with a Twitter friend to talk Social Studies and tech curriculum at the museum. On my way up the hill, this truck caught my eye. Old trucks seem to always catch my eye. But this orange truck in front of the orange Rainbow Bridge seemed like a must. Since the truck was sitting in a parking lot with less interesting vehicles, I had to play with the cropping.

A walk in my garden definitely gives you a clue to my heritage. There are Texas birdhouses, Texas stepping stones, Texas wind chimes and other Texas garden art. All gifts from my sister who doesn't want me to lose sight of my Texas beginnings. This picture especially reminded me of my sister because daisies are one of her favorites. I love living in Washington, but I will always be a proud Texan.

Today Erik and I went on a Sunday drive. We drove up the North Cascades HIghway. I love coming up here in different seasons. The drive was beautiful as usual. Even though there was a forest fire near, there were still blue skies most of the way. I feel so blessed that this beautiful part of the country is within our Sunday drive range.

Long day including a 2 hr weather delay on the tarmac, a 6 hr flight and then crazy construction traffic all the way home. But I made it. This is what greeted me as we flew in to Seattle.
