This tree is a bit late changing this year. But the orange is coming. Getting in the spirit of this gray rainy day today making stew and pumpkin pies from veggies from my garden. Time to put the garden to bed for the winter.

10-30-10 Hawk
Nice morning for a walk with Roswell. The sky was blue, the mountain was out with a fresh dusting of snow, lots of beautiful fall color and the guy all fluffed up to keep warm at the top of a tree.

10-26-10 Sweet Dreams
On the road again tonight. Determined to keep up with my challenge even though my busy day and then travel kept me from getting out and taking any other photos today.

10-25-10 Mobile Flickr
Had fun showing my parents my Flickr photos on my iTouch this weekend. Limited photo opportunities today so this photo is sharing duty as my photo of the day and dailyshoot.
10-24-10 Halloween Down on the Farm
These clever creatures were in Corrigan, Tx on my way back to the airport.

10-23-10 Peacock
Had another nice outing with my parents today. We went to the Lufkin Zoo. A great little small town zoo. My dad would tell you that it didn't seem very small today as he had to do a huge amount of walking that he really wasn't planning on. Not really set up for people with mobility issues. But he was a real trooper and we just took it slow and enjoyed the zoo and each other. I feel really blessed to have gotten to have such a nice visit with my parents. Back to Washington tomorrow and back to work on Monday.

10-22-10 Yellow Rose in Texas
I am in Texas visiting my parents. Today, Daddy insisted that we go to the Tyler Rose Garden. My mom wasn't sure he was up to it, but he insisted that we go. Daddy sat on a bench and soaked up the beauty and my Mama, my Aunt and I walked through the sea of roses taking lots of pictures. Everyone had a great time and came home tired.

10-21-10 Old North Cemetery
Long day today. Early morning flight from Seattle to Houston and then a drive to Nacogdoches to see my family. Had a great visit with my parents and my nephew. My nephew is a photography student and wanted to go out and shoot some photos with me after dinner. The lighting left something to be desired, but we had fun exploring this old cemetery as the full moon rose.

10-20-10 Roosengarde
Tulip production never stops in our valley. Right now, they are busy putting bulbs in the ground. But tulips are blooming year round in the greenhouses. I enjoyed another early foggy fall morning. I liked the light and fog in this shot.

10-17-10 Alley
Went for a walk downtown with Roswell. Looking for different things to photograph. I like the colors and textures of this photo. Not too pleased with the lighting though. I have more to learn in that area.
10-16-10 Rockport Church
I love this little church on the North Cascades Highway near Rockport. No need for stained glass at this church. As you sit in the church, you look out at at a most glorious mountain and farm scape. I've stopped and taken photos of this church several times. Both inside and outside the church. I took this shot as we were leaving. We stopped at the riverside park across the street and I got yet another view. If I wasn't already married, this is where I would like to be married. :)

10-14-10 Pad Thai
Busy day with no real opportunities for photos. (Well, I did take a few photos of a woodpecker this morning, but he chose to stand in a really boring way. ) Decided to run to Rachawadee Cafe for take out on the way home from meetings. Thought maybe I would take a few photos downtown. Just got a few photos with my point and shoot. This will just have to do. This eight seat diner is one of our local favorites. They know us and what we like and I even get to practice the little bit of Thai I know with them.

10-13-10 Raspberries and a Old Tree With Fog Lifting
This morning I could see fog down in the valley as I walked Roswell before work. I decided to go out to the fields to take a few pictures before heading to work. It is funny, I've driven by this tree hundreds of times, but today was the day to take the photo.

10-12-10 Stained Glass
My mom and I share a love for old wooden churches. This is part of an old church in Burlington.

10-11-10 Morning Light on Red Barn
Mondays are difficult for me to get both a Dailyshoot and a Photo of the Day, so sometimes, like today, I share. I love this big old tree and barn. Thought that this would be a good red photo.

10-10-10 Bee Shadow
Things are in transition at the Discovery Garden. Had to really keep my eyes open to find things of interest today. There is plenty of beauty there, just a little more subtle at this time of year.

10-09-10 On the Boardwalk
Windy, blustery and now rainy day here. We walked downtown to the market this morning. Actually thought that the wind was going to pick me up and take me away. The vendors in the market had given up on their canopies and were just trying to keep everything on their tables from blowing away. Definitely a blustery fall day. This leaf and the texture of the board walk caught my eye. Not sure how it got it to sit so still.

10-08-10 Big Scoop
Not sure how long Big Scoop has been around, but it is an institution here. Their sign got some wind damage a few years ago, and for some reason that makes it a more enticing photo opportunity for me.

10-07-10 Flat Tire
Took this picture in my Dailyshoot search for discarded and abandoned. Old trucks always catch my eye. They remind me of my Uncle Danny who loved old trucks. His old trucks would never be in this condition

10-06-10 Spider Webs
I was able to go for a quick drive this morning before going to work. It was really foggy in the fields. The fog and sunlight hitting these spider webs caught my eye. It was at a point where I really couldn't pull over or get out of the car, so I quickly stopped and took this photo through the windshield. Not the best quality photo, but nice work on the part of the industrious spiders.
