I was busy working on school stuff in the back of the house all day. Erik and Holden were watching a lousy football game. Erik picked up my spirits by texting me this photo with the message. "This is what Holden thinkgs of the Seahawks game.." Not my photo, but I am posting it anyway.

10-17-11 Church and State

We saw the most beautiful sunset brewing as we were heading home tonight. Unfortunately, shame on me, I didn't have my camera with me. Not even my phone. I watched the sky all the way home then ran inside to grab the camera. Crossed the street to get a shot without wires only to realise I didn't have my memory card in the camera. Ran back home got the card and tried again. Still amazingly beautiful sky, but not quite as impressive as it had been as I watched without a camera. Oh well. I have taken shots of this church silhouetted many times because it is the view out my front door. Today a school bus added a bit of variety.

We took our annual fall color trip. We headed over the North Cascades Highway to Okanogan County. We left early and the first part of the trip was pretty foggy so we missed some of the color in the Cascades but we were treated to plenty of beautiful sights and fall color as we continued on our journey.

10-08-11 The Geese Have Returned!

Earlier this week I heard the snow geese fly by in the night. I smiled and thought, they're back! One thing that I really love about my photo challenge and the fact that I have stuck to it for almost 3 years now, is that I am much more attuned to the changes happening all around. The geese aren't back in big numbers yet, but they are coming back and the seasons are changing.

10-06-11 How Dare You!

Holden looks totally disgusted with me after bringing him home from the vet where he was neutered and they did a gastropexy which helps large dogs like him survive bloat. (An awful condition that kills many large dogs.) I felt bad taking a perfectly happy and healthy puppy in this morning to be cut and poked and stictched today, but hopefully, this will help us to have a happy and healthy dog for many years to come. (The t-shirt is to cover the stitches from the gastropexy.) He should be thrilled to know that it is from a great Texas BBQ joint. What more could he ask for... :)
